In light of the Covid Virus many reggae concerts have been cancelled, but fans got to enjoy a little “Love from a Distance” from top reggae artist Beres Hammond. This virtual concert was held last Sunday and commemorated the ending of yet another Reggae month.
With social distance being the top priority for survival during the COVID-19 pandemic, this has resulted in frustration with the lack of outings and entertainment. However, online watchers got to experience what ‘One Dance Can Do’ as they joined in the performance via live streaming with featured guest artistes such as Buju Banton, Marcia Griffiths, and Popcaan. Famous songs such as: ‘They Gonna Talk’, ‘Putting Up a Resistance’, ‘Double Trouble’ were included on the lineup, as well as the new single ‘God is Love’ featuring Popcaan.
With something to enjoy from the comfort of home, fans came out in their numbers for fun and entertainment. Beres also took the time to endorse artists such as Jessie Royal and Popcaan, expressing his excitement on the new generation in music and offering his support. The short but exciting event lasted but an hour and a half – beginning at 9pm and ending at 10:30pm. In spite of this, fans did not hold back on their appreciation as they crowded the comment section with heart emoticons. Hits such as ‘Full Attention’, and ‘If You See Me Crying’ made up for cancelled concerts for the month of February, as Beres represented with a stellar performance.
